Everyday, functional movements require stability and mobility. Counterbalancing is key to the stability, power and precision needed when moving our limbs across the opposite side of the body. Understanding how to move with integration is an important step toward reducing injury and pain in day-to-day, sporting and weekend warrior activities.

This workshop explores the partnership between the shoulder girdle and pelvic girdle. From this workshop participants will:

  1. Understand the muscles that make up the shoulder girdle and the pelvic girdle; and why their counterbalance relationship is important.

  2. Learn why rotation gives additional momentum to movements and how integrating abdominal muscles promotes greater stability and less strain in functional movements.

  3. Learn conditioning exercises for obliques, chest and back muscles as well as hip stabilizing muscles.

Counterbalancing and rotation in functional movement are important. Save your spot to learn ways to condition muscles and prevent injury doing essential activities along with the fun things you love in life.
